Asia – Oceania Forum for Synchrotron Radiation Research (AOFSRR)

NZSG’s affiliation with the Australian Synchrotron has given NZSG the opportunity to be an Associate Member of the Asia – Oceania Forum for Synchrotron Radiation Research (AOFSRR).

The objective of the AOFSRR (Asia – Oceania Forum for Synchrotron Radiation Research) is to establish a general framework of collaboration for the development of science and technology, which mutually benefits advancing the research goals of the parties, and to promote comprehensive cooperation in the Asia Oceania region.

Member countries include Australia, China, India, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam

The Council, on which NZSG has a seat, meets annually. The AOFSRR regularly holds conferences on synchrotron radiation and synchrotron science. It also hosts an annual School for young and emerging researchers who intend developing a career in synchrotron science. NZSG has sent students to the School since 2014.

The next School is being held in August 2024 and is being hosted by the Australian Synchrotron.
