The Australian Synchrotron is a third-generation synchrotron source, operating at a storage ring energy of 3 GeV and beam current of 200 mA. This provides high performance in the energy range 100 – 65,000 eV. An initial suite of 13 beamlines was proposed, with a range of techniques which will cover 95% of the expected Australian and New Zealand user community.
The storage ring has 14 super-periods and is 216 metres in circumference.
