20-21 April 2009: Second NZ synchrotron user meeting, Wellington.

2-5 December 2008: Australian Synchrotron users’ meeting held in Melbourne.

September 2008: Cheiron summer school, hosted by SPring-8, Japan. 3 students from New Zealand attended.

14-15 April 2008:
The first meeting for NZ synchrotron users was held at Wharerata, Massey University. This was an opportunity for all NZ researchers who have used or are interested in using synchrotron techniques to share their work. Visiting speakers from the Australian Synchrotron also attended.

20 December 2007: Beamline commissioning underway for protein crystallography, infrared spectroscopy, powder diffraction, soft x-ray spectroscopy.

12-14 December 2007: Australian Synchrotron Users’ Workshop.

3 December 2007: Preferred access proposal deadline for January-April 2008 beamtime.
29 October 2007: Merit access proposal deadline for January-April 2008 beamtime.

31 July 2007: Australian Synchrotron formal opening

9 January 2007: First x-rays into experimental station

15 December 2006: Target ring current (200 mA) achieved

13 September 2006: New Zealand Synchrotron Group formed

21 July 2006: ‘First light’
